ALU PATOLER CHORCHORI( POTATO WITH PARWAL)

This is very easy and flavorful dish to make with few ingredients.
INGREDIENTS:
500 gm patol( parwal) ( lightly scraped and cut into 4 lengthwise pieces.Do'nt de-skin the patol as many do. Flavor of the vegetable gets diminished)
2 large potatoes cut into lengthwise pieces
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
3 tbs of oil
1 tbs freshly chopped ginger
1 medium tomatoes roughly chopped
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
salt to taste
1 tsp sugar
