A very typical and quintessential bengali dish. I have not come across many fish head preparations in other cuisines except Singaporean fish head curry( I think it's a malaysian preparation.).Bengalis eat almost all parts of fish except scales may be. There are countless preparations with fish head mainly with various kinds of vegetables like bottlegourd( maachher maatha diye lau ghonto) cabbage and even one with fragrant rice( Murighonto ).But my favorite is this spicy dal with fish head.
